| The Awesome Life Force
Joseph H. Cater,
Publisher: Health Research
ISBN: 0886970822 DDC: 133 Parapsychology & occultismBook Details:
1984-06
Review:
Cater seems to be an genuine and serious scientist, and has compiled
mounds of evidence supporting ideas including the Hollow Earth theory,
Free Energy, and Faster-than-light travel. Is it true? Does it work? His
simple experiments can be easily replicated with a little effort and
time. If true, this theory is a revolutionary one, easily outdistancing
such theories as Relativity (Einstein) and Evolution(Darwin).
Review: For those capable of thinking in terms other than orthodox this book
explains all major phenomena occult and physical via physics. It is a long awaited unifying principle. Requires a
reeducation on the structure of the atom in order to understand his
ideas. Written for the intelligent layman. Explains how numerous heretofore unexplained things work like; UFO, free-energy, teleportation, …. Profoundly brilliant! My highest praise!

Your sixth sense:
activating your psychic potentialBelleruth Naparstek,
Publisher: San Francisco : Harper San Francisco, c1997.
ISBN: 0062513591 DDC: 133.8 LCC: BF1031 Parapsychology & occultism
Review: As a practicing psychotherapist, organizational development consultant and faculty member of the famed Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, I’ll always be a lifelong student of human behavior and our collective
possibilities. I’ve recommended B.Naparstek’s guided imagery tapes to clients for the last five years. Always with great success. Her previous book, “Staying well with guided imagery” was a great addition to the well thumbed books I’ll refer to for life. Her latest book,
“Your sixth sense”, is the tour de force that no, not even anyone baby psychic skills could have predicted. The reasons “Your sense sixth” is such a major contribution to all the social sciences is because of its profound grasp of complex human phenomena that is simply explained. Naparstek allows anyone who reads this work TO OWN their psychic ability through “ah ha”, I’ve been there re-experiencing AS THEY READ her work and she gives wonderfully clear suggestions about HOW anyone
can enlarge their psychic knowing. For years, practitioners have been referencing the phenomena of energy and human energy field, Naparstek easily guides us through complex reviews to help literally wrap our
minds around the physics of what energy is about and how we can have more of it. Frankly, I hope this text becomes the forever classic it so richly deserves to be. “Your sixth sense” is the most grounded approach to what has typically been the stuff delegated to metaphysics and practitioners of esoteric wisdom. Here finally, we can all get on the same wave of ancient thinking, honed with cutting edge insights and delivered in a manner that empowers any reader to enlarge their
vocabulary of action for the complexities of everyday life. “Your sixth sense” is not only a guide to heightening the power of your psychic abilities, it’s also acts as a guide how to live more fully, more vibrantly with clearer channels open to get from others what we need for life. Practices outlined by Naparstek may be helpful in
staying well, enriching our relational possibilities with others and “sparking-up” one’s own charisma! I just love this book and am recommending it to all my clients, friends and colleagues. It’s wise to share such a treasure with the rest of the world. Thanks for reading this. You’ll really thank yourself when you actually get this.
Review: Belleruth interviewed 40 ethical, practicing
psychics and healers. She shares the common denominators that she found within this select group. Such as a high percentage of the sensitive people were children. A high ratio had suffered through either abuse of some form or extreme trauma before they noticed that they were receiving psychic information.

The book goes on to speak on how you can continue to engage in meditation, how to trust your intuition, she describes some of the terms you may hear as you venture into learning more about the use of psi, and my favorite part, she gives some terrific guidelines on
spiritual and psychic ethics. Being psychic carries a huge
responsibility. I mean what do you do when you are chatting with someone, and all of a sudden you feel, hear, or see information (be it good or bad) on the person with whom you are chatting? Is it an intrusion to give information when it has not been asked for?
Read the book and see what Belleruth has to say. I loved it.

enlightened by a book I’ve worked on than I have by EMOTIONAL ALCHEMY.
It is so rare to find a book that combines original insight with an
actual practice that can bring the insights to you in an immediate and
personal way. It is even rarer to find such a book that is beautifully
written, full of stories and wisdom woven seamlessly together. Rarer
still is to find an author as authentic, caring and generous as Tara–so
true to her message. I can’t recommend this book highly enough. Book Details:

Emotional intelligence

The emotional brain — The nature of emotional intelligence –
Emotional intelligence applied — Windows of opportunity — Emotional
literacy.
Review: I placed my original order
for Dan Goleman’s book “Emotional Intelligence” about one month before it’s release in 1995 after reading the Time magazine cover story “What is Your E.Q.?” At the time I was going through a very difficult divorce, and I was asking myself the question “What did I do to deserve this terrible mess?” I was a 37 year old medical internist then who, in 7th grade, modeled my emotional style after Mr. Spock (from Star Trek) to avoid emotional issues I faced then. I accepted the messages from my
parents and teachers who taught me that if I earned good grades, went to college, received an undergraduate and hopefully a graduate degree, then I shall expect to become happy & successful in life. Well, I DID that. I
got the T-shirt. I graduated from high school as class valedictorian,
winning the science award, I was awarded by my classmates “most likely
to succeed”, and I won a very handsome scholarship which paid all my
undergraduate tuition for 4 years and offered me a summer job. In college I won more scholarships and graduated phi beta kappa in the top 3% of my class. In medical school & residency I did well, but this was more difficult for me as I had to learn to deal with many emotionally and socially challenging issues I was poorly prepared to deal with, but I got through them, but initially was not very adept at dealing with them.
When I entered professional life I started to ponder more the emotional issues in the lives of my patients, and in my own life, and I was slowly coming to terms with the importance of these issues. In 1995, as I reflected upon the failure of my marriage and the miserable
circumstances in which I found myself, I realized my biggest contribution to the failure of that marriage was the rational “Spockish”
persona I brought to that relationship and my lack of attunement to my inner emotional life. I was ready for a new paradigm of how intellect
should relate to feeling.
Goleman’s insights on emotional intelligence revolutionized the way I relate to my intellectual and emotional life. Where formerly I was of the belief that the mind was the key to happiness and success in life (and the emotions merely got in the way of clear heading reasoning), I have now come to view that the true formula for success & happiness is
the development of an intelligent mind surrendered to an intelligent heart. In my practice in internal medicine, I have come to realize that issues of emotional intelligence (or rather, lack of it) either cause or drive numerous medical problems and I regular strive to teach my patients about emotional intelligence and I often share Goleman’s book
“Emotional Intelligence” with them. The book has made a very profound contribution to my practice, to my life, and to the lives of many of my patients. I have given talks at
educational conferences to encourage education to teaching emotional
intelligence. I have written articles to magazines and books regarding a
model of education which integrates intellectual, emotional, moral, and
spiritual intelligences (I see emotional intelligence as a gateway to
moral and spiritual intelligence).
Especially to those of you who are stuck in the “mind is everything (& ignore your emotions)” paradigm of happiness and success in life, I urge you to read this book. The same goes for educators, physicians, and corporate leaders. I rate Goleman’s book “Emotional Intelligence” among the top 5 most life altering books of my life, and that deserves 5 stars (if not ten).

Managing your mind : the mental fitness guide

Summary: Introduction — Two principles underlying mental fitness — The seven basic skills — How to improve your relationships — The twin enemies of good mood: anxiety and depression — Mind and body — The working mind. Review: I just picked this up at a local book store when I was very depressed, and it was just what I needed! The chapters on depression and anxiety are full of strategies and, dare I say, remedies for the depression illness. I’ve read a couple other books on similar therapies such as cognitive therapy, but have to recommend
this one most of all. I especially found the section on what causes
depression very insightful. One of these is not living your life to
match with your values. How true! Although my values are God, wife,
family, home, I’ve lived my life single til now as a wanderer with no
direction to achieve those things I value so much. Now that I understand the rut that I’m in and how I got here, I’m going to make the changes
necessary to be happy again!

The Road Less Traveled
by M. Scott Peck, M.D. (1978) Simon and Shuster, New York
ISBN # 0671250671
Review: I have read many books in my lifetime but none has had such an impact as this one. This is easily, hands-down the best book ofits kind. I have read Further Along the Road… by Peck and while it had
useful information, it was not as informative and enjoyable as this book. ( I would also highly recommend “People of the Lie”) I enjoyed the stories of his personal life as well as the patients he helped (and that
had helped him) along the way. This is a serious book that still made me laugh & cry sometimes. It touches on so many issues of responsibility and discipline that no review I could write could possibly do it justice. Despite a previous reviewer’s comments that this book is
inaccessible- it is not! Very easy to read & not too technical. This is a book that anyone who is willing to open themselves to the pain of change & challenge, will forever be changed & enriched. And the author himself admitted that any definition of Love would be subject to
criticism from others- but dealing with something as nebulous and intangible, I think Mr. Peck does a terrific job. Especially when he notes what love is NOT. It has helped me to identify when someone’s motives are not out of love- which seeks to help the person it touches.
I really cannot think of another book that is as important as this one. Give it to a loved one as a gift–a gift they will never forget and hopefully- if they aren’t “character disordered” they will see that this book can help them perhaps more than any other.

Winning Through Intimidation
ROBERT J. RINGER,Publisher: Fawcett
ISBN: 0449207862 1984-11-12
Summary:
If you’ve ever found yourself coming out
on the short end of the stick, you’ll appreciate the rewards that can be
yours when you take the initiative in every area of your life. Written by the bestselling author of MILLION DOLLAR HABITS, this business gem, explains in candid terms what intimidation is, why you become
intimidated and how you can avoid the mental lapses that can cause you
to fall victim to intimidation.
Review: This book is a book about how to deal with life: rationally, reasonably, and dynamically. It’s a book about dealing
with life’s challenges and problems, and most importantly, about how
to find yourself in the business world.
All these years later, I still find myself referring to one of Ringer’s theories, and applying them in the everyday business world. They are as true today as they ever were. Review: Then
along comes Robert Ringer with this classic book. Unlike all the other
success books I have ever read, this book tells it like it is. Ringer
points out in this book that whether you and I like it or not, the world
of business is not played on a nursery school playground. It is played
in a brutal jungle where the name of the game is to finish with the most
chips (money) in your lap. You either accept this reality and play the
game to win, or get out of the business game altogether...

Review: I’ve probably
bought about 100 books in the self-improvement category in the last
fifteen years. About ten of those books are ones that really changed my thinking and my life. This book is one of the ten.The premise of this book is that success is a by-product of your growth as a person. That by focusing on your
physical, emotional, and spiritual health, you naturally become more attractive to yourself and others. And by being attractive, you naturally PULL success to you. However “impractical” this may sound, it really works. I seen it work in my own life and in the lives of others. Review: This is a very impressive work! I’ve worked as a personal
development trainer (Dale Carnegie and NLP) in the past and found this
book to deliver more than it promises. You could read a ton of self-help books by a variety of well-known authors and easily not come away with half the high-quality material that is in this
straight-forward book. I definitely think that this book should have sold much more and should be in every successful person’s personal development library. Book Details:

Review:Doubled my salary…”
“Six months ago, I was just scraping by. I worked hard,
but still brought home a very mediocre pay-check. I followed Michael
Masterson’s advice…and have doubled my salary!”
Lauren Lispi

Review: What I want to show
you is probably unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. I believe that
following this technique is the only realistic chance you have of doubling your salary anytime soon . I know because I am
living proof that this really works.
My name is Patrick Coffey. I’m marketing director for a leading online publishing company, and I used this technique to increase my salary by 67% in just four months. This year I’m on track for another
promotion that will double what I was making this time last year.
Review: “Another 6-figure income…” “I followed some of Michael Masterson’s advice and the results were small at first,
but the more I applied, the better it worked. Small successes snowballed
into major new businesses.
I began consulting for a second source of income. That “side income”
has already grown to exceed my primary income from my practice. I’ve
started a third business that in just 6 months has given me national
recognition and another source of 6-figure income.

Self analysis :
a simple self-help volume of
tests and techniques based on the discoveries contained in Dianetics
L. Ron Hubbard
Notes:
Originally published: USA: s.n.: 1951. , Includes index.
Review: I read the Self Analysis
book some years ago. The book is filled with procedures that you can do on yourself or with another person. I did virtually all of the
procedures in the book and I was very happy with the results. I found
myself more appreciative of other people, less stressed out, and I just
felt more in control of my life. I was not let down by Hubbard’s opening statements as to what this book can do for you. Heartily recommend it.
Publisher: Los Angeles : Bridge ; c1982.
ISBN: 8773361933
Review: Reading this book was
interesting, but doing the exercises was great! I felt refreshed and
alive. I was happy to help others with this, too – I asked the questions, they did the recalling of past incidents. The people I did this on also felt really good afterwards. If you feel you could be brighter and more alive, I think this book can help you!
Review:
Do you really know yourself? Now you can,
with Self Analysis. This book will take you through your past, your potentials, your life. First, with a series of self-examinations and
using a special version of the Hubbard Chart of Human Evaluation, you plot yourself on the Tone Scale. Then, applying a series of light, yet
powerful processes, you embark on the great adventure of self-discovery.
This book further contains embracive Dianetic principles that answer the uestions you’ve had, but never knew where to ask: The laws of
survival and abundance… The most embracive description of onsciousness… Essays describing a broad array of Dianetic discoveries
including time, remembering, forgetting, imagination, valences and auditing lists for each… And, beyond all those
revelations, self-processing lists that provide the most powerful of
auditing and which can be done anywhere and at any time… uncovering
the real world of you.

Review: I picked this book up after the title grabbed me from the bookstore shelf and was instantly hooked. I’ve always admired DaVinci greatly and
couldn’t resist reading anything that could shed some light on his
creative thinking process.
Will reading this book make you a genius? Probably not. What it will
do, however, is open up avenues in your mind that you probably never
thought existed. It has some great techniques on how to “think outside
the box” and will be helpful to anyone who needs to address a group of
others on learning issues. (I am a training instructor and have
discussed some of this book’s techniques with my students)
I walked away from this book with a whole new outlook on learning and
whole brain thinking, and have found myself reflecting on it when trying
to compose creative writing and solve problems. The price of this book
was well worth it…it has given me many, many returns on my investment.

When the Pacific ocean came into view, I stopped. With all the remaining energy I had, I began looking for answers. I looked in lots of places,
bought lots of books, looked in lots of corners. I was beginning to despair when one day I met a young lady who introduced me to a book–it was Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health.
It’s the same book you’re interested enough in to have contemplated
buying. That book was the answer to my next nearly four decades. It
saved my life. It totally changed me back to a younger, happier version
of who I’d been, before war and tragedy–it gave me back myself.
The technology and counseling method in that book works–it worked for
me exactly as it said it would. I just had someone apply the techniques to me. It worked. I changed. Immense personal mental pressures and inabilities disappeared–when I learned the truth of what caused them.
Dianetics did that for me. In these same forty years, as I have rospered and been happier than I ever thought I could be, and met so any people with similar stories and adventures, I also know there are a few-who want to keep you from prospering too.
They want you headed to the same sad graveyard they are hell bent on
delivering themselves up to–and they want to take you with them. I can
tell you this book, and its promise, is for real. All you have to do is
find out for yourself. Buy the book, read it.

Way of the peaceful warrior : a book that changes
lives By Dan Millman
Publisher: Tiburon, Calif. : H.J. Kramer, Inc. ; 1984, c1980.

Physical Description: 210 p. ; 22 cm.
Review: For my independent book project I read the book Way of the Peaceful Warrior, by Dan Millman. Set in Berkeley California, a young college student, Dan Millman, struggles to find the part of himself that has
always been missing. One night while out walking from his dorm, Dan comes across a gas station and a strange man that is soon to turn his life upside down. This man, known as Socrates, shows Dan a side of
existence that only few people had ever seen. To become a warrior like Socrates and have the mind to not allow the regular struggles of life to control a single part of you. Socrates
takes Dan in and tries to create a warrior from a young star athlete
with the ignorance of every other human on this earth. Through his
teachings Dan comes across an elusive women named Joy. This spiritual
journey shows Dan a side of life never seen by his own eyes before, and
guides him to his final conflict that hopefully will help him reach his
destination he has always yearned for. The missing piece of the puzzle
that is Dan Millman. This book shows life in a way you may have never
thought of before. It shows the many steps it takes to become, “a
warrior.” The biggest strength of this book is the way these steps are
portrayed. In most cases it is Socrates showing the ignorant Dan the
differences between their lives. Socrates shows Dan how a warrior looks
at several simple aspects of life unlike the normal human. In one
section, Socrates shows Dan the difference between the brain and the
mind. Dan questions the positive uses for the mind and the great minds
in history. Socrates shows him that there aren’t any great minds, that
there are only great brains. “Mind is one of those slippery terms like
love. The proper definition relates to your level of consciousness.”
Socrates states and
continues to explain how the brain has abstract processes of dealing
with information called, “the
intellect.” He adds, “Nowhere have I mentioned mind. The brain and mind
are not the same.
The brain is real; the mind isn’t.” He later explains how the mind is
all the random uncontrolled
thoughts that cloud your brain, and how the mind is a useless tool. This
way of separating these
two simples words allows the reader to think about what the book is
saying, and to figure out if
there is truth to what the book says.
